Nothing like a nice cup of hot chocolate to warm you up on a frigid winter day. In honor of January being my Mom's birthday month (she is turning 50 this year), I decided to make Birthday cake hot chocolate! It is very easy and so delicious!
(Makes approx. 2 servings) Ingredients: -1 1/2 cups of whole milk - 1/4 cup of dry funfetti cake mix -1/4 cup of chopped white chocolate -1/4 tsp of vanilla extract -Whipped cream -rainbow sprinkles Directions: Simmer the milk in a small pot on low heat. Then whisk the cake mix until dissolved. Add the chocolate until completely melted. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Pour in a cup and top with whipped cream and sprinkles. Enjoy! Brrr it is cold outside. This simple Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Chili is the perfect meal for a frigid winter day.
Ingredients: 1 diced onion 1 8 oz can of kidney beans 1 8 oz can of pinto beans 1 8 oz can of black beans 1 8 oz can of tomato sauce 1 14.5 oz can of diced tomatoes with chilies 1 packet of taco seasoning 1 tablespoon of cumin 2 cloves of minced garlic 4 skinless chicken breasts Shredded cheddar cheese Directions: In your slow cooker combine the beans, onion, tomato sauce, tomatoes, garlic, cumin and taco seasoning. Mix well and then lay the chicken on top. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 6 hours. When it is done removed the chicken and shred using a fork and then stir back into the chili. When you are ready to serve top with cheddar cheese and if you wish some fresh cilantro and sour cream. Enjoy with some tortilla chips. Yum! French Onion Soup is my favorite soup to enjoy on a cold winter day. I often always order it anytime I visit a diner. It is also quite simple to make.
Ingredients: 1 tbs of olive oil 2 tbs of butter 6 medium onions sliced salt and pepper to taste 2 tsp of fresh thyme 6 cups of beef stock 4 thick slices of french bread toasted Gruyere Cheese (I used mozzarella) Directions: Heat a deep pot over medium high heat. Add the butter and oil into the pot. Then add the sliced onions and season with salt & pepper and thyme.Cook for 15 minutes until tender and caramel in color. Next add the 6 cups of beef stock and bring to a boil. Preheat the boiler. On a cookie sheet arrange 4 small soup bowls. Pour onion soup into boils and then place a toasted french bread slice in each. Place cheese on top and put in oven until cheese melts. Enjoy! |
