Making heart shaped donuts for Valentine's Day is actually super simple. ❤ This is a fun and easy recipe that the kids can help make.
Ingredients: -Heart shaped cookie cutter -1 can of Pillsbury Grands Flaky Layer Biscuits -Vegetable oil for frying Icing: -1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar -4 tbs of milk - 1 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract Decorating you can use pink food coloring and some Valentine's Day sprinkles. Directions: Open the can of biscuit dough and roll each piece with a rolling pin. Then cut out the heart shape with the cookie cutter. I was able to make over a dozen with one can. Pour about an inch or two of vegetable oil to a pot. Once the oil is hot drop each donut into the oil and fry for a minute or so until golden brown flipping half way through. Allow the donuts to cool completely. In a bowl mix the icing ingredients. For different colors, pour some of the icing into separate bowls and add food coloring. I did pink and white icing. Dip your donuts into the icing and sprinkle with some festive sprinkles. Enjoy and Happy Valentine's Day!! 💕

This was so fun and very easy to make. It is a great Valentin'es day treat that you can make with kids or for your sweetheart! All you will need is a heart shaped pan(I got mine from Walmart), frosting, red gel icing and some refrigerated cookie dough.
I used refrigerated sugar cookie dough but you can use whatever you like. I added some flour to my sugar cookie dough to make it easier to work with. I also lined my heart shaped pan with parchment paper cut into the shape of a heart. Place the dough evenly into the pan and make sure you fill it to the shape of the heart. Then I let it just chill in the fridge for a bit. Next bake it in the oven according to the instructions on the back of your cookie dough. In my case, I baked it at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes. Let it cool completely before removing from the pan. Beginning icing your cookie with some frosting. I used store bought pink strawberry frosting for mine. Then write your message with red gel icing. Happy Valentine's Day! This a simple and festive Valentine's Day dessert idea that I just love!
Ingredients: -white pudding mix -2 cups of milk -red or pink food coloring (I used pink) -whipped cream -sprinkles Directions: In a bowl whisk together the pudding mix and milk. Then add a few drops of pink food coloring and mix well. Pour into desired serving glass and let it chill in the fridge until firm. Then top with some whipped cream and sprinkles. Enjoy! In honor of Valentine's Day and the mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead, I made a realistic bloody heart cake. I was never a fan of gore and zombies but The Walking Dead is a fantastic show! So for all my fellow Walking Dead fans this Valentine's Day, this dessert is for you! I made this by using: -Cupcakes (whatever flavor you like) -Frosting -red fondant (I purchased mine at Walmart) -red food coloring -Cherry Jam Knead your fondant and roll it out with a rolling pin. Make sure you roll out enough to cover the cupcake. On the bottom of the cupcake spread some frosting and place in the center of the fondant you just rolled out(this keeps it secure). Then begin to cover the cupcake with the fondant. Don't worry about making it super perfect because the imperfections will make it look more realistic. At the top of the cake make three funnels to look like arteries. You can look at some heart images online to try to make it look accurate(I tried my best). Next mix a little bit of red food coloring and cherry jam. Then paint the cake with the jam(this step really makes it look gory). Then you are finished with you bloody heart cake! Enjoy! What is Valentine's Day without some heart shaped sugar cookies?
Ingredients: 4 cups of flour 1 tsp of baking powder 1/2 tsp of salt 1 cup of softened butter 2 cups of sugar 2 eggs 2 tablespoons of lemon juice Heart shaped cookie cutters Directions: Sift together the flour, salt and baking powder. In another bowl, mix the butter, sugar, egg, lemon juice and gradually mix in the flour. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour. Then take the dough out and let it sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Roll dough and cut into heart shapes and place on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Put in the freezer for 15 minutes. Then place in the oven and bake for 15-18 minutes. Once cookies are cool decorate with icing. Royal icing works best. There is one thing that I always look forward to for Valentine's Day.........chocolate covered strawberries!!! So I decided to make a cupcake version of my favorite Valentine's Day treat. This is a chocolate cupcake with a strawberry cream cheese frosting and topped with a chocolate covered strawberry.
Chocolate Cupcakes Ingredients: 1 1/3 cups of flour 1/4 tsp of baking soda 2 tsp of baking powder 3/4 cup of cocoa powder pinch of salt 3 tbs of softened butter 1 1/2 cups of sugar 2 eggs 3/4 tsp of vanilla extract 1 cup of milk Directions: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a muffin pan with cupcake cups. In a bowl sift the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cocoa and salt. In a large bowl cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs and beat well. Stir in the vanilla and add the flour mixture and milk. Mix well and fill the cups 3/4 full. Bake for 15-17 minutes. It is done when you insert a toothpick and it comes out clean. Let it cool before frosting. Strawberry Cream Cheese Frosting Ingredients: 1./2 cup of strawberries 1 stick of butter 1 (8 oz) package of cream cheese 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract 4 cups of confectioners sugar red food coloring Directions: Pureed the strawberries. In a bowl with an electric mixer beat the butter until fluffy. Add the cream cheese and beat until combined. Slowly stir in the sugar. Add the vanilla and just 3 tbs of strawberry puree. Once it is mixed well add a few drops of red food coloring to give it more of a pink color. Frost the cupcakes and top with a chocolate covered strawberry. |
