I actually really enjoy making homemade bagels. It is really quite simple and they come out very delicious. I have made rainbow bagels and even pumpkin spice bagels(recipes on my blog). I wanted to make some green bagels for St. Patrick's Day, This is such a fun breakfast that you can make for the kids.
Ingredients: -1 1/2 cups of water -green food coloring -4 cups of bread flour -1 tbs of instant yeast -tbs of brown sugar -2 tsp of salt Directions: In measuring cup mix the water and green food coloring. In a large bowl mix all of your dry ingredients and then add your green water. Mix well and add flour as you knead the dough until it forms into a large ball. Grab another bowl and coat the inside with non-stick cooking spray and then place the dough in that bowl, cover and allow the dough to rise for an hour. Pull apart about 8 pieces of dough and roll into balls. Cut a hole through the center of the dough ball and spread it out so that it looks like a ring. Next preheat your oven to 425 degrees. While the oven is warming up, boil the bagels in water for just 1 minute or so. Then place the bagels on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake the bagels for about 20-25 minutes in the oven. Yumm. Enjoy!

Every March I really look forward to sipping on a McDonald's Shamrock Shake. So i decided to make Shamrock Shake Cupcakes!
Ingredients: -1 box of white cake mix -2 tsp of Mint extract -Green Food coloring Topping: -white frosting(store bought more homemade) -Maraschino cherries -Red and white paper straws(trimmed to size) Directions: Combine the necessary ingredients according to the box of your cake mix. Then add the mint extract and a few drops of green food coloring to get it to the green color you desire. Line a cupcake pan with green cupcake liners, pour in batter and bake according to instructions. I baked mine at 350 degrees for about 18 minutes. Once the cupcakes are cool, use a pipette bag to frost with white frosting. Top with a maraschino cherry and cut a piece of a red and white paper straw to accent the cupcake to look like a shake. Enjoy and Happy St. Patrick's Day!! Who doesn't love chocolate covered pretzels? These Shamrock Pops is an easy idea for a tasty St. Patrick's Day treat!
Ingredients: -Cake Pop Sticks -Mini Pretzels (3 per pop) -Green Chocolate Melts -Green Sugar Sprinkles Directions: -Melt the green chocolate in the microwave(follow instructions of package). -On a sheet of wax paper lay down your stick. Dip a pretzel in the chocolate(covering both sides)then place on the wax paper flat on one side of the stick at the top. Cover some of the stick with chocolate. This is one "leaf" of the shamrock. Follow these steps with two more pretzels to make a 3 leaf shamrock. Be sure to have enough chocolate to cover the top of the stick so it stays on well and to fill in any gaps in the pretzel "leaves". -Before it hardens add green sprinkles. Yummm!! If you are looking for a fun beverage for the kids to enjoy on St. Patrick's Day, then this recipe is for you!
