Peeps are a popular Easter treat that people have very strong feelings about. You either love them or you hate them. I think Peeps are cute and it simply isn't Easter without them. Whether you are a Peeps lover or hater, I guarantee that you will love this cake idea!
To make the Peeps Bunny Cake you will need:
-Baked sheet of cake that has cooled in the fridge (use whatever flavor you like)
-Frosting (I used pink)
-Sugar Sprinkles (I used pink)
-3 chocolate chips
-Peeps Bunny Cutout
Take your Peeps bunny paper cutout and simply cut the pattern out from the cake with a knife. Remove excess pieces of cake from the cut bunny pattern. Place the cake onto a serving pan with two pieces of parchment paper underneath on each side. This helps for easy clean up while you are decorating.
Use food coloring to color your frosting to whatever Peeps color you wish. I chose pink. Frost the entire cake including around the edges. Then apply your sugar sprinkles over the entire cake. Remove the parchment paper you placed underneath the cake. Lastly, using your chocolate chips insert (tip side down) into the cake as the eyes and nose, Enjoy and Happy Easter!
Here is a tasty new way to enjoy Peeps! To make a Peeps Milkshake you will need:
2 cups of vanilla ice cream
1/2-1 cup of milk
whip cream (optional)
In a blender add in the ice cream, milk and peeps and blend until smooth. Poor into a glass and top with whip cream, sprinkles and if you like a Peep. Enjoy!
Make an adorable Peeps Pudding Pie with just a few ingredients.
green food coloring
pudding(any flavor you like)
mini graham cracker pie crusts
chocolate robin eggs
Add a few drops of green food coloring to the coconut flakes to make it look like green grass. Mix well.
Either make pudding or take pre-made pudding from a pudding cup and add it to the mini graham cracker pie crust.
Top the pies with the coconut flakes and then add a peep and a few chocolate robin eggs.
Birds Nests are my FAVORITE treat to make for Easter! It is so tasty and uses very few ingredients.
3 cups of mini marshmallows
3 tbs of butter
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
4 cups of dry chow mein noodles
small candy robin eggs or jelly beans
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
Over low heat melt the butter and marshmallows in a large sauce pan.
Then stir in the vanilla and mix in the chow mein noodles.
Here is where it gets a bit messy. Apply some shortening to your hands. Then grab a small clump of the noodles and form into a ball. Press a small indent in the center to make it form into a nest and set on the parchment paper to cool. Once cool fill the nests with candy. I like to use chocolate robin eggs.
