Meringues are a nice light treat and I decided to have fun and make Emoji meringues! I was inspired by my favorite youtuber Ro of "Nerdy Nummies". I followed her recipe for the "Poo " emoji merigngues. You can find that recipe here.
For the smiley emojis I used the following recipe; Ingredients: -3 tsp of meringue powder -1/2 cup of sugar -1/4 cup of water -1/2 tsp of vanilla extract -yellow food coloring Directions: -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. -Beat the meringue powder, half of the sugar and water for a few minutes. Then gradually beat in the rest of the sugar, vanilla extract and a few drops of yellow food coloring. Make sure meringue mxture is stiff and forms peaks. - Line a cookie sheet with pachment paper. -Place about a tbs of the meringue mixture on the parchment paper and smooth out into a circular cookie shape. -Bake for 10 minutes. Then turn off the oven and let the meringues sit in the oven for an hour. -Once cool, decorate with royal icing.

I was really fascinated by the Unicorn Poop cookies that I had to create a festive version with the Holidays approaching. So why not make Elf Poop Cookies? They taste like peppermint because an Elf's diet surely consists of candy canes! LOL
Ingredients: -1/2 cup of softened butter -1/2 cup of shortening -1/4 cup of cream cheese -1/2 tsp of salt -1 cup of sugar -1 egg -1/2 tsp of peppermint extract -2 cups of flour -red and green food coloring Optional -red glitter icing -Christmas sprinkles Directions: In a bowl, combine the butter, shortening and cream cheese and beat well. Then add the sugar and salt. Beat in the egg and peppermint until combined. Then gradually add the flour. Divide the dough in half in two seperate bowls and add the food coloring( one red and the other green). Wrap the red and green balls of dough individually with plastic wrap and place in the freezer for 20 minutes or in the fridge for an hour. Set the oven to 375 degrees. Remove the dough and place on some some wax paper on the counter(this way you don't need to use flour). Take a tbs size ball of the red dough and roll into a rope. Then do the same for the green dough. Then twist and coil the two together and place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Once the cookies are cool I went ahead and put some red glitter icing and sprinkles on top. Enjoy! Happy Earth Day! Make these fun Earth cookies with the kids for the occasion.
You will need: Sugar mix (I cheated and got a mix from the store or you can make your own) Green Food Coloring Blue Food Coloring Directions: Preheat the oven according to the directions on the sugar cookie packaging. Make the sugar cookie dough and divide the dough in half and separate into two separate bowls. Knead in the green food coloring to one ball of dough and the blue food coloring to the other. Next grab a small ball of green dough and a small ball of blue dough. Combine the two pieces of dough by rolling into a ball. Next place on a cookie sheet and gently press to flatten. Bake according to instructions and enjoy! |
