Bloody Body Parts Jello Cups

10/28/2015

Super easy and gory.

You will need:
- red jello,
-clear plastic cups
-gummy candy body parts
-edible candy blood or red food coloring mixed in corn syrup

Follow the directions of the red jello and put in the clear cups. I found from the dollar store some gummy candy body parts. While the jello was still a liquid I placed the gummy candy eyeballs in it and then placed in the fridge to set. Once the jello is set I placed some finger gummy candy  on top. To add a more bloody effect I did some dribbles of candy blood on the body parts and rim of the cup.

These cookies are so soft and delicious!

What you need:
-1 stick and 1/2 of butter softened
-3/4 cup of sugar
-1 egg
-2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
-2 1/2 cups of flour
-1/2 tsp of baking powder
-Halloween cookie cutters

Royal Icing
-3 cups of Confectioners Sugar
-1/4 tsp of cream of tartar
-2 egg whites

Directions for the cookies:

In a large bowl mix the softened butter, egg, sugar and vanilla  until nice and smooth. Mix the flour and baking powder in a separate medium bowl and then add to the butter mixture ( add a little bit of the flour at a time).

Once the dough is mixed well divide the dough in two equal parts. Roll out on parchment paper and refrigerate for at least an hour or up to 1 day(You MUST do this step).

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a cookie sheet with non-stick spray.

Remove the dough, roll out(I placed the dough in between parchment paper and then rolled) and cut out your Halloween cookie cutter shapes and place on the baking sheet.

Bake for 8-10 minutes. 8 minutes seemed to be perfect!

Royal icing is great because it hardens.
Beat the egg whites and slowly mix in the confectioners sugar and cream of tartar.

Once cookies are cool decorate with icing and sprinkles. Enjoy!

This is a super easy and  quick Halloween appetizer.

You will need:
-eggs
-mayo & mustard
-sliced black olives
-blue food coloring
-red food coloring

Boil the eggs and once they are done let the eggs cool.
Peel the eggs and cut in half. Scoop out the yolk in a bowl.
Mix in some mayo, mustard and seasoning of your choice to create your favorite deviled egg recipe,
Next add in some blue food coloring to the egg yolk mix.
To create the red veins on the white of the eggs simply dip a fork in red food coloring and brush on the egg.
Now assemble. Place the blue egg yolk mixture in the center of the boiled egg halves and then place a sliced black olive on top as the pupil.

These Ghost Meringues are so cute and an easy Halloween treat.
You will need a electric hand mixer.

Ingredients:
4 egg whites
1/4 tsp of cream of tartar
1 cup of sugar
Black decorating icing gel

Directions:
-Preheat the oven to 225 degrees.
- Mix the egg whites with the electric mixer for a few minutes until the egg whites become frothy with little bubbles. Also make sure when you separate the egg whites to not get ANY yolk.
-Next SLOWLY add in the sugar making sure it completely dissolves.  Literally just add a tablespoon at a time. Keep mixing.
-Then add the cream of tartar.
-Continue to whip the mixture  until it can hold it's shape.
-Get baking sheet and line with foil. Spray with non-stick spray.
-Next grab a ziploc bag or an icing bag. Place the meringue in the bag(if using a ziploc simply cut the tip). Then begin making your ghosts by  piping the mixture on the baking sheet.
-Bake for 45 minutes.
-Once cool use the black decorating icing gel to create the eyes and mouth.

Bloody Black Velvet Cupcakes

Here is a creepy and bloody treat that is very delicious!

These are black velvet cupcakes topped with white vanilla frosting and candy blood spray that I found at Walmart.

I found a great black velvet cupcake recipe at  javacupcake.com
Here is the link: http://javacupcake.com/2010/10/black-velvet-cupcakes-pumpkin-tutorial/

Black Velvet Cupcakes
  • 4 Tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2½ Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 Tablespoons black food coloring
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup plus 2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1½ teaspoons distilled white vinegar
Black Velvet Cupcakes
  1. In the bowl of a stand mixer fit with a paddle attachment, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about three minutes. Turn mixer to high and add the egg. Scrape down the bowl and beat until well incorporated.
  2. In a separate bowl mix together cocoa, vanilla and black food coloring to make a thick paste. Add to the batter, mixing thoroughly until completely combined. You may need to stop the mixer to scrape the bottom of the bowl, making sure that all the batter gets color.
  3. Turn mixer to low and slowly add half of the buttermilk. Add half of the flour and mix until combined. Scrape the bowl and repeat the process with the remaining milk and flour. Beat on high until smooth.
  4. Turn mixer to low and add baking soda and white vinegar. Turn to high and beat a few more minutes.
  5. Spoon batter into a paper lined cupcake baking pan and bake for 20-25 minutes at 350 F degrees or until a skewer inserted into the center cupcake comes out clean.
  6. Let rest in the pan for 10 minutes, then place them of a cooling rack to cool completely before frosting.

For the white frosting you can certainly make your own or just purchase store bought white vanilla frosting (which is what I did).

Next get bloody!! I bought really cool candy blood spray but if you can't find it there are surprisingly a lot of edible blood recipes online.
