I LOVE chocolate covered strawberries!! So I had to the seize the opportunity to make some red, white and blue strawberries for the 4th of July.
You will need: -Strawberries -white melting chocolate -blue sprinkles Directions: Melt the white melting chocolate according to directions (about a minute in the microwave). Then take the strawberry and dip into the chocolate but don't completely dip the entire strawberry. You want to leave some of the top undipped to show red. Then dip the tip of the strawberry into blue sprinkles and lay on some wax paper to dry. You can then place in the fridge to harden and then enjoy!

When I think of summer, cotton candy often comes to mind. I love the smell and sweet taste of cotton candy. So I decided to make some cotton candy cupcakes.
You will need: -Yellow cake mix -White frosting -Light blue food coloring -sprinkles -cotton candy -cake pop sticks Directions: Follow the instructions of the cake mix to make cupcakes. Put the frosting in a bowl and add a few drops of light blue food coloring and mix well. got multi-color cotton candy so I took some pieces of the blue cotton candy and added it to the frosting so that the frosting would have some cotton candy flavor. If you can find cotton candy extract that would be even better but I had a hard time finding it in the store. Frost the cupcakes and top with some sprinkles. Lastly, take the cake pop stick (I cut mine in half) and wrap with some cotton candy and then insert into the cupcake. Tasty Cotton Candy Cupcakes!! With BBQ season upon us and Father's Day around the corner, I had to make these super awesome Hamburger Cupcakes. It is so simple to make and are just adorable!!
You will need: -Box of yellow cake mix - Box of Devil's food cake mix - 2 containers of white frosting -red, yellow and green food coloring -sesame seeds Directions: Follow the directions on the back of the cake mix box. Make both yellow and chocolate cupcakes. Once cool, cut the yellow cupcakes in half as these will be the hamburger buns. With the chocolate cupcakes cut off the top and this will be the hamburger patty. Divide the frosting into 3 separate bowls. With the food coloring, make 1 bowl yellow (cheese), 1 bowl green (lettuce) and the last bowl red(Ketchup). Then take each frosting color and put into a sandwich bag or you can use piping bag. For the yellow and green make a medium size slit at the end of the sandwich bag and for the red make a small slit. Place the chocolate cupcake that you cut as the Hamburger Patty on top of the bottom half of the yellow cupcake. First you will need to do the cheese. Pipe the yellow frosting into a square shape onto the "hamburger patty". Next with the green frosting do the lettuce by piping a star like shape. Lastly with the red frosting pipe a zig zag pattern as the ketchup. Top the hamburger patty with the top of the yellow cupcake. In a small cup combine some warm water with a little bit of sugar. Brush on the top of the yellow cupcake(hamburger bun) the sugar mixture and sprinkle the sesame seeds. This final detail really makes it look like a hamburger. Perfect treat for the summer! Enjoy! |
