This is such a fun craft idea to do with kids. Salt dough is easy to make and fun to paint. Please keep in mind it is NOT edible.
To make these adorable heart ornaments you will need:
heart cookie cut outs
4 cups of flour
1 cup of salt
1 1/2 cups of warm water

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
Mix the flour and salt and slowly stir in the warm water. Once the mixture reaches a dough consistency roll out in between parchment paper with a rolling pin. Cut out into heart shapes  and with a toothpick poke a hole near the top(this is for thew ribbon). Then place on a cookie sheet. Bake for 1 hour.
Once ornaments are cool you can paint. Have fun!

Valentine's Day is around the corner. if you are stumped and not sure what to get your Valentine, I have the perfect solution!
Try making a Sharpie Mug! It is so simple and you can get very creative and personal. Simply purchase a ceramic white mug and whatever color Sharpie permanent markers you prefer. I decided to make a mug for my husband so I wrote my wedding vows (not the best handwriting). You can draw hearts, say what you love most about your Valentine or whatever else comes to mind.
Then place the mug in the oven and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Once the mug is cool place some candy or special treats inside.

Organizing your jewelry just got a whole lot easier!

It is a New Year so I am looking for simple ways to keep myself organized. I have TONS of jewelry and necklaces in particular are difficult for me to store. They always get tangled. I came across this awesome hack to solve this problem. All you need is a plastic hook rack that you can purchase from the Dollar Tree. It is rather sturdy and comes with 7 hooks. I love big and chunky necklaces and this truly holds my necklaces well.

I have so much make-up! It can be frustrating sometimes when I can't find the right color eye shadow or lipstick because I am sifting through my make-up bag. This awesome DIY project will keep your make-up organized and visible.

You will need:
-Hot glue gun
-Magnets(can be found in art supply store or Walmart)
-Picture frame that hangs
-Fabric (make sure it is thin)
-Pre-cut piece of metal that is magnetic that will fit in frame(mine was 12 X 18 and I got it at Lowes)

Directions:
Wrap your piece of fabric tightly around the metal and hot glue to secure. Remove glass from picture frame and insert metal. Then hot glue the magnets to the back of your cosmetics. Then you are done!

My New Year's Resolutions

Goodbye 2015 and Hello 2016! A new year means a fresh start and I look forward to setting some  goals.  Here are my TOP 5 New Year's Resolutions and how  I hope to actually achieve them.

1.) Save Money: My husband is happy about this one! As much as I try  to save money it seems like the world is against me  and my bank account. Every time I managed to have some spare cash that I can put to the side something goes wrong with my car, there is an unexpected expense or just something comes up. I guess that is life and  I am just going to stop making excuses. I want to get  a house and start a family and having some seed money in a savings account is a very good start. I am going to give the 52 week money saving challenge a try.

2.)Get healthy and look great in my "Itsy Bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini":
Okay I don't really have a yellow polka dot bikini. However, either way I want to look smokin'  this summer . It is a common New Year's resolution to get healthy and loose a few pounds. So it comes as no surprise that this is definitely one of  mine. I hope to achieve this by working out at least 4 times a week and sticking to a clean diet.

3.) Try something new: Every month I want to try something new. Whether it be something rather tame like trying a new food or  restaurant  or something a bit more adventurous like going snowboarding or taking a dance class. Life is short and you can try new things without breaking the bank and be able to create everlasting memories.

4.) Spend more quality time with friends and  family: We have limited time on this earth with our loved ones. I know we have busy lives and can make excuses for why we haven't visited, called, texted etc. In the end, family and friends are very important. So this coming year will  include more phone calls, camping trips and movie nights with the ones I love.

5.) Grow GetHolidayHappy.com: I am SO proud of this blog! I just started this blog in September, 2015 and I have had some awesome celebrity interviews, made stellar recipes, did cool events and gave back to the community. I am loving this venture and I can't wait to see what the future holds.

New Year-Fresh Start!
